The Choral Art Society is pleased to announce that once again a
scholarship is being offered to a graduating senior from the South Shore
who plans to pursue music as a major in college.
This year, the scholarship award will be in the amount of $1000.00. This
scholarship is intended to help support a student who is applying for
further study in any area of music concentration, including theory,
composition, music management and merchandising, conducting, history,
literature, theory, performance, etc. The opportunity to apply is being
offered to graduating seniors in the South Shore communities of Cohasset,
Duxbury, Hingham, Hanover, Hull, Kingston, Marshfield, Norwell, Pembroke,
Plymouth, and Scituate.
We shall announce the name of this year's recipient at our spring concert
on May 20th, 2012. The award will be disbursed after the successful
completion of the first semester of the student's freshman year as a
college music major.
We are well aware of the many talented young individuals on the South
Shore, and we look forward to reading their applications and learning
of the personal factors that have inspired them to become music majors.
Students can find an application for this scholarship here.
The deadline for returning completed applications is April 25th, 2012.
Any questions can be directed to Dr. Paul L. Merchant.
